I purchased this home when my wife was recruited to work in Gavvney, SC. The mortgage was originally 1510.00 per month on what we thought was a fixed 30 year mortgage. The payment increased recently to 1809.00 per month and my wife is struggling to keep up the mortgage and all her other financial obligations. We also own a home in Goldsboro, NC where our 2 older children live while they go to college. We need foreclosure help with American Home Mortgage Service

My husband and I have lived in our home for just over 2 years. It was built by my grandparents over 50 years ago. Our home is our home, we love it! Unfortunately, my husband lost his job, and since we live in Michigan, jobs are few and far between. I contacted our mortgage company immediately. We had some money put aside. After we ran out of resources we were living on our son's SSI, which was only $623 per month. This was obviously not enough to pay our bills let alone our mortgage, which was $820 a month plus allow us to live. We kept in contact with our mortgage company through this whole process. We did the credit counseling that they required of us and continued to try to work with them, until ultimately we just couldn't do it anymore. We filed for bankruptcy just to try to keep our home. This was about 6 months later when my husband finally got a job truck driving. But the mortgage company was already wanting to start the foreclosure. We found that with the chapter 13 bankruptcy we couldn't afford those payments either, so we had it dismissed. I couldn't find a phone number in which to contact our mortgage company at this time so I waited to hear from them. We finally received a letter from their lawyers office and I called them. They gave me the number I needed to contact the mortgage company and I called the mortgage company. Again, I explained about our hardship but told them that we were getting back on our feet and really wanted to make payments again. The woman I spoke to told me that we qualified for a hardship loan and all we needed to do was fill out some paperwork for them and we should be approved and be able to start making payments again. I was relieved. When I received the paperwork, we filled it out and sent it back immediately. Then we waited to hear from them. Two weeks went by and I was anxious. Finally, about 3 weeks to a month later I hadn't heard anything so I called the mortgage company to see what was going on. This is when they notified me that they had already taken the property and we had no hope unless we sell the property or come up with the whole amount owed. We have been given until February to do something. In the mean time our first mortgage company went under and now we are having to deal with American Home Mortgage Servicing. I called them to see if maybe we could work something out. The person I talked to said that they had already completed the foreclosure. I told her that we had until February and she got mad at me. I checked with the lawyers office and confirmed that we do have until February. But, now we are going to lose our home and we don't want to and we don't know what to do. We can't afford to pay off the home and it is not worth what they are wanting. There is so much major work that needs to be done that it can't be worth much and if they do make us leave it will sit here and rot away. What I don't understand is why this all happened when we did everything that we were supposed to? Why do we have to lose our home and not have a fighting chance when we did everything right? Why? There are so many homes here that have been lost to foreclosure that are just sitting there rotting. People are leaving this state because there are no jobs. We want to live here, we want to keep our home but no one has offered to help us not even from day one. All we want to do is pay for our home and stay here, but no one wants to help us. We are still in our redemption period and want to know if it really is too late? And if it is, then the American Dream sucks, because it doesn't work for the little people. No one wants to help they just want more money and I'm tired of it. I am so sick and tired of it. We are good people and want nothing more than to pay for our home and keep it. PLEASE help us
